Alpamayo is one of the most beautiful ice faces of the Andes, Alpamayo is well-known and was even elected the most beautiful mountain in the world. It is not the difficulty that inspires the climbers but it's magnificent setting among the everlasting snowcapes of the Cordilliera Blanca, 6000 meters above sea level.
The Lord of Sipán tomb is a Moche culture site in Peru. Some archaeologists hold it to be one of the most important archaeological discoveries in this region of the world in the last 30 years, because the main tomb was found intact and untouched by thieves. Sipán is located in the northern part of Peru, close to the coast, in the middle of the Lambayeque Valley, 35 km east of Chiclayo, Peru. Four tombs have been found in Sipán's Huaca Rajada, a mausoleum built by the Moche culture that ruled the northern coast of Peru from around 1 AD to 700 AD.
The largest Pre-Columbian city in South America, Chan Chan is an archaeological site located in the Peruvian region of La Libertad, five km west of Trujillo. Chan Chan covers an area of approximately 20 km², and had a dense urban center of about 6km². Chan Chan was constructed by the Chimor, the kingdom of the Chimú, a late intermediate period civilization which grew out of the remnants of the Moche civilization.
The People of the Clouds as the Chachapoyas were known, were excellent warriors and engineers, by choosing strategic places for their settlements and fortifications they were safe from their enemnies until they were conquered by the Huayna Capac Inca in 1470, after a bloody war.
Here in this Plaza in Cajamarca was the place where the Inca Empire came to an end; the Battle of Cajamarca and the capture and execution of the Incan emperor Atahualpa took place here.
The Andes while traversing Peru has create the highest Tropical Range in the World and Huaraz is the most important outdoor center; it's location provide the logistical resources for the expeditions into the Cordillera Blanca.
